Future Annual Meetings

IADMS invites proposals to host future Annual Meetings, which are held each Fall (mid-October to early November).  Meetings are held in cities with good international air travel connections and a strong dance community.

Venue requirements include: lecture hall that can accommodate 300-350 persons, lecture hall that can accommodate 150-175 persons (for concurrent sessions), dance studios or similar space for movement sessions, exhibition space, and nearby hotel rooms.  Lecture space, movement session space, and exhibition space can all be located in a hotel conference center.  If not, then lecture halls, dance studios, and exhibition space should be in close proximity.

We are often asked, "Why doesn't IADMS have a meeting in [name your city]?"  You may not realize it, but IADMS relies on members to volunteer to host our meetings.  Hosting a meeting involves much exposure (and publicity) for the host organization and persons, but it does also requires a good amount of volunteer work.  In the end, most hosts agree that it is a great experience.  Hosts organizations are quite varied and can include: university dance departments; medical school departments (as in Alcalá, Spain); arts and dance schools (as in Tring, UK; Miami, Florida, USA; Greenwich, London, England; Stockholm, Sweden); private physical therapy, sports medicine, and orthopaedic groups (as in Hartford, Connecticut, USA); hospital dance medicine clinics and centers (as in New York, NY, USA and San Francisco, California, USA).
